Fun Family Fall Activities

Low-cost fall activities to do during this SPOOKY SEASON!

The weather might be getting colder for those of us in Canada, but there are still plenty of amazing indoor and outdoor activities to do with your family during this time of year. Here is a list of some of our favourite low-cost fall activities to do during this SPOOKY SEASON!

  • Get active!
  • Do you have any local hikes in your area? Us Vancouverites love the Lynn Canyon Hike in North Vancouver, or even Stanley Park! If you aren’t close to any family-friendly hiking or walking trails, go for a walk in your neighbourhood and pick out your favourite Halloween decorations! It is so much fun to check out the spooky decorations and pumpkins.

  • Make Halloween cookies!
  • Who doesn’t love delicious holiday baking?! You can bake your favourite cookie recipe with your kids and then utilize orange and black icing to decorate the sweet treats! Pumpkin cookies anyone?!

  • Check out the fall leaves!
  • If you live somewhere cooler like we do, go for a walk at your local park and marvel at the festive colours. This is a fun and FREE way to get into the spirit of fall! You can also turn your fall walk into a scavenger hunt – exploring the outdoors is so fun to do as a family. Bonus points if you can spot any acorns!!

  • Have a Fall Family Game Night!
  • Let each family member pick out their favourite board game and sit down for an evening of friendly competition. From Scrabble to Monopoly, there’s a board game for everyone! Having a game night is an amazing way to spend time together as a family and encourages teamwork.

There are so many Fall activities to do with your family. However, with many parents still working from home, you might be looking for some independent activities for your child to do while you finish up your projects! We designed our Roam game with this in mind. Roam was designed to assist children in developing critical thinking skills while making learning fun! Once you’ve completed your work, you’ll be able to spend time with your family and enjoy these activities together. Happy Autumn everyone!
