From there, pour the mixture into your Popsicle tray and let it freeze overnight. These coconut-flavoured treats will taste like a virgin piña colada and would be amazing dessert to bring to a summer barbecue.

Green Goodness Popsicles!

Do you want to sneak some extra greens into your family’s diet? Try blending mango, banana, spinach, and orange juice for a green treat that tastes like summer! Learning Tip #7: Let Your Children Express their Creativity

It is so important to allow your child express their creativity. An article by the TeachThought Staff shares twelve benefits of creativity (as listed by Sylvia Duckworth) here. One of the benefits that Sylvia Duckworth notes is that creativity can actually assist in problem-solving, a skill that benefits both children and adults. So, how can you allow your children to express their creativity? We suggest visiting your local craft supplies shop with your child and letting them pick out their favourite materials. Your child may have fun trying out new pencils or crayons! It is so important to let your child find a fun outlet to express themselves with. This could even be as simple as drawing with sidewalk chalk! Helping your child discover the benefits of creativity could help them build their problem-solving skills, or even further their love for learning! It’s fun to get creative.

Pro Tip: after you print out these worksheets, encourage your children to use the blank side of the paper for colouring. This is a great way to prevent unnecessary waste and to teach your children about recycling.

Learning Tip #6: Encourage Your Children to Study a Subject They’re Interested In

For this week’s learning tip, we thought we would get a little bit creative. When I was in elementary school, there were so many subjects that fascinated me. I would have enjoyed having the opportunity to study a subject of my choice. Helping your child to find a subject that interests them is a great way to encourage their love for learning. If you’re currently homeschooling your children, try including a fun report or presentation on a topic of their choice. You can then assist them in researching and reading about this topic. This exercise will help your child learn how to research, while also making learning fun! Your child could research their favourite animal, or even a sports car! Including visual representation of their research topic – such as a drawing or painting – is another great way to foster creativity.
